April 6, 2015: Shoal Lake and Clearwater Bay

Al Nelson went flying again on Monday, and he accommodated my request for pictures of Shoal Lake and Clearwater Bay.

This photo looks east, and Clytie Bay is visible at the top right corner.

Al also took a look at Scotty Island, but it’s all ice out there, too, so I won’t depress you with the pictures.

Cold nighttime temperatures over the Easter weekend means we didn’t lose a lot of ice. On the other hand, I have heard several stories of vehicles going through the ice lately, including a truck and snowmobile trailer on Shoal Lake and two trucks on Lake of the Woods. This must mean the ice is getting thinner and softer.

Thanks for the photos, Al!
